Vestiges is a collaborative project with dancer and choreographer Julie Brodie, and her sister Louise Brodie. It is inspired by stories from Colleen Brodie, the performers’ mother who told them about the character and habits of their grandmother, Kee Hazel Stump, a hardworking woman obsessed with cleanliness. The action takes place on Julie’s farm. The project developed through conversation while I was completing the previous film about my own grandmother (MovingGMA.) Together, we celebrate these memories.
